WordPress 3.5.1 is out!

Finally the WordPress 3.5.1 Maintenance and Security Release version is out that was quite eagerly been waited by the users. Claiming to work both as a maintenance and security release, expectations from this version is many and the features also say that it can certainly stand on the expectations. Another reason for it to win the confidence of the users will be that it is the first time that a maintenance release of the 3.5 is launched and also, it is capable of fixing 37 bugs. As a security release as well, many notable changes have been found in the software.

The features noticed in the WordPress 3.5.1 include the following:

  • The editor of the software will prevent certain HTML elements from being removed or modified unexpectedly
  • The new media manager is improved to fix a collection of minor workflow and compatibility issues
  • Works better is suggesting proper rewrite rules while establishing a new network
  • Suppressing those warnings that may occur when a plugin is misusing the database or user APIs
  • Fixing the misconfigurations that may lead some JavaScript in the WordPress admin area to fail
  • Preventing the scheduled posts from being stripped of certain HTML

Some other security issues like server-side request forgery vulnerability that can expose the private information and have been found affecting all previous WordPress versions is fixed by this version. Then there are other issues like two instances of cross-site scripting via shortcodes and post content and a cross-site scripting vulnerability in the external library Plupload which too are fixed by this version.
